GameMaker 2 Prototypes

GameMaker 2 Prototypes
These are some of my prototypes I have made using GameMaker 2.
Wack-A-Mole
The Wack-A-Mole project was my first proper experience with GameMaker 2 and taught me the basics of the user interface and the GML script language.

I feel the game's features such as requiring multiple hits to destroy the mole and having only one life make it an enjoyable experience.

Chukin Run
Chukin Run is my second GameMaker 2 project, which is a infinite runner that has a parallax background.

This project has been worked on in reverse with work starting on the parallax background before moving to game logic.
Noticeably, in this early parallax test some elements like the trees where floating above the ground, this was fixed in further iterations.

After the background, work started on the game logic. This involves jumping and sliding under obstacles while trying to avoid a person chasing you. This stage of development focused on game feel.

After this basic test animations were introduced to enable me to measure the best implementation of a run cycle.

I feel this project was a great introduction to the idea of parallax backgrounds and helped me further build my GameMaker knowledge.
